A total of 24,622,584 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 23,022,549, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin, noting that 3,921,889 people have received the third dose of the vaccine.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus rises to 1,059,586, while recoveries increase to 984,047, i.e. a recovery rate of 93%.
The new COVID-19 cases were recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (3,049), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1,275), Fez-Meknes (837), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (736), Marrakech-Safi (631), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (332), Souss-Massa (306), Draa-Tafilalet (217), Eastern region (183), Guelmim-Oued Noun (107), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (58) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (25).
As for coronavirus-related fatalities, they rose to 15,012 (fatality rate of 1.4%), with Eighteen new deaths reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (14), Marrakech-Safi (2), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (1) and Draa-Tafilalet (1).
The number of active cases increased to 60,527, including 506 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
