This agreement was initialed by the Director General of ANAM, Khalid Lahlou, and the Director General of the Malian Agency, Hameth Ben Hamane Traore, during a ceremony chaired by the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khaled Ait Taleb, in the presence of the Ambassador of Mali in Rabat.
It comes within the framework of strengthening cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali, particularly in the field of health, said a statement from the Ministry of Health and Social Protection.
The statement further noted that it reflects the common desire of both countries to make social protection a lever for development and is a first step towards establishing a fruitful partnership between ANAM and its Malian counterpart.
According to the statement, the agreement aims to pool efforts for optimal capacity building and sharing of experiences between the two agencies in various areas of activity, including sharing of data and studies, exchange of working visits and support teams in the field, training sessions and advanced training, as well as participation in conferences and seminars within the scope of the two agencies.
Morocco's ANAM receives, from 16 to 20 May, a delegation of Mali's counterpart led by its Director General, and this as part of a visit to exchange experiences in the field of social protection.
This visit, which takes place within the framework of the ongoing reform of the health system and the Universal Health Insurance Scheme (UIS) in Mali, aims to learn from the Moroccan experience in the generalization of social coverage, including the Medical Assistance Scheme (RAMED), in order to achieve the operationalization by Bamako of universal health coverage for vulnerable categories, said the Ministry.
The program of the visit includes a series of working sessions with ANAM officials and field visits to the various organizations involved in the management of RAMED, in order to closely investigate the process of registration and care of patients, reimbursement of medical benefits and medical services provided to beneficiaries of RAMED.
