Mr. Hilali was unanimously elected head of the Arab body by the presidents of the fifteen federations present at this meeting, namely Morocco, Jordan, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Yemen, Egypt, Sudan, Palestine, Tunisia, Algeria, Libya and Mauritania, while four presidents of federations took part in the event by videoconference. These are the federations of Syria, Bahrain, Lebanon and Djibouti.
At the end of this general assembly, Mr. Hilali highlighted the efforts made by the representatives of the Arab federations of taekwondo in order to develop this discipline in Arab countries, stressing the importance of broadening the base of practitioners of this sport.
Mr. Driss Hilali, president of the Mediterranean Union of taekwondo, is vice-president of the African confederation and of the French-speaking Union of the discipline and member of the international taekwondo federation.
