The delegation is making great efforts to humanize the conditions of detention in line with the High Royal instructions and government guidelines in this area, said Baitas at a session of oral questions at the House of Representatives.
The DGAPR is working to repair, restore and renovate the different facilities to improve the conditions of accommodation of inmates. It is also implementing several measures to increase the capacity of prisons, said the minister delegate in response to a question on "the conditions of accommodation in prisons".
These measures, Baitas said, aim to provide the prison space with all the basic facilities, noting that the old and dilapidated facilities which pose a security risk have been replaced by modern buildings that meet the required standards and are equipped to improve the conditions of detention.
Responding to another oral question on "the resumption of the civil society prize," Baitas recalled that the event was suspended for two years due to health conditions related to the pandemic.
The laws regulating this award are being revised, he said, adding that this year's edition will be held on November 15, 2022.
