This meeting is part of the monitoring of the implementation of this project and the evaluation of its progress, particularly regarding the generalization of health coverage.
In a statement to the press at the end of this meeting, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, noted that the Government has taken, with the various actors concerned, important steps in the implementation of the social protection project.
Mr. Ait Taleb stressed, in this regard, that the progress of the health coverage project should not be limited to the registration of citizens, given that social protection is of a solidarity nature, noting that the challenge lies in the realization of the generalization of the compulsory basic health insurance scheme at the end of the current year, through the involvement of the various stakeholders in the project of the generalization of health coverage.
For her part, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, underlined that the registration in the National Register of Handicrafts has achieved a significant rate, adding that more than 180,000 craftsmen were registered and about 300,000 others joined the National Social Security Fund (CNSS).
Ms. Ammor called on all the Chambers of Crafts to continue mobilization, in order to reach the expected objective of 500,000 members by the end of the current year.
In addition, the minister stressed the importance of the registration and contribution of craftsmen with a spirit of solidarity to fully adhere to this major project, launched by HM King Mohammed VI.
For his part, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mohamed Sadiki, pointed out that the operation of updating the lists of the agricultural sector dedicated to the generalization of the regime compulsory basic health insurance is underway, adding that more than 1.31 million beneficiaries have been registered to date out of a total of 1.6 million farmers.
After pointing out that the contributions have already been launched in several regions, Mr. Sadiki noted that his department is working with professionals, in particular chambers of agriculture and inter-professional federations, to register 200,000 beneficiaries in the lists dedicated to this purpose.
The Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Faouzi Lekjaa, for his part stressed that this meeting was an opportunity to take stock of the progress of the implementation of this royal project, which has so far enabled two million citizens and their dependents to join the CNSS and benefit from medical services, expressing the wish that 2022 will be the year of membership for all Moroccans to Compulsory Health Insurance (AMO).
This royal project, which requires the involvement of everyone with a spirit of citizenship and responsibility, is based on the principle of solidarity between the different social categories, said Mr. Lekjaa, adding that their contributions were set by the decrees and that beneficiaries of the "Ramed" scheme will also be admitted.
The meeting was attended by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, the Minister of Health and Social Protection, Khalid Ait Taleb, the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries, Rural Development, Water and Forests, Mohamed Seddiqi, the Minister of Tourism, Handicrafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance, in charge of the Budget, Fouzi Lekjaa, as well as the Director General of the CNSS and the President of the Moroccan Confederation of Agriculture and Rural Development.
