Speaking at the opening, Wednesday in Fez, of the high-level symposium celebrating the 5th anniversary of the Plan of Action for Religious Leaders and Actors to Prevent Incitement to Violence that Could Lead to Atrocity Crimes, Al-Malik praised the importance of the Fez Plan of Action, which stands out for its "seriousness" and "uniqueness" since its launch, to confront the incitement that leads to crimes that threaten humanity, emphasizing the distinguished presence of officials, heads of international organizations, religious leaders and intellectuals from all over the world, to renew the spirit of research and investigation and explore ways that ensure the consolidation of the values of co-existence.
The DG of ICESCO expressed his consideration and thanks to HM King Mohammed VI, Commander of the Faithful, for His support to the implementation of the Fez Plan of Action and its recommendations, stressing the remarkable contribution of religious leaders in raising awareness of the dangers of violence and extremism.
Al-Malik reviewed the most important initiatives and programs launched by ICESCO to contribute to building societies capable of living in harmony and stability and confronting the currents of extremism, reaffirming ICESCO's commitment to cooperate and coordinate with the various regional and international bodies concerned with the fight against extremist ideology, to build an advanced model of cooperation based on social intelligence.
