As part of the festivities celebrating Rabat Capital of Culture in the Islamic world 2022, this ceremony was attended by Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aouatif Hayar, as well as ambassadors and diplomatic personalities of participating countries and representatives of some international organizations.
Speaking on this occasion, Hayar highlighted the importance of this international event, given the role that children play as ambassadors of peace in their countries.
This Festival, she said, embodies the persuasion of the Moroccan society about the central role of children in the dissemination of peace and values of living together between peoples of different cultures.
The Minister also stressed that this edition, which coincides with the glorious Throne Day, is an opportunity to recall the special support that HM King Mohammed VI never ceases to grant to the protection of children and their rights and to the building of a society where the values of peace, justice and cultural and religious diversity prevail.
For his part, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, highlighted, in a speech on his behalf, the importance of this international festival, while noting the imperative of educating children to the values of cohabitation.
He also praised the "international" character of this Festival, which is an annual event for children of different cultures to interact and get to know each other, which contributes greatly to the process of educating children to the values of pluralism and diversity, as well as the dissemination of the values of love and rejection of hatred throughout the world.
Director of the Festival, Abderrahmane Rouijel, stressed that this event is a call for peace and the dissemination and promotion of cultures of coexistence and tolerance in the world, through drawings made by children from different countries and cultures.
