The 24-year-old defender of Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), heard Thursday by investigators of the Territorial Security of the Hauts-de-Seine, is accused by a woman of the same age of having raped her last Saturday at his home in Boulogne-Billancourt, a western suburb of Paris.

The charge laid against him "finally gives him the opportunity to defend himself," said the player's lawyer, Fanny Colin, in a statement.

After learning about this case, PSG said in a statement that it "supports the player, who has firmly denied the accusations and trusts the justice system."
