The Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family said in a statement that this meeting is part of a working visit that Tello Lopez is conducting in Morocco on May 12-20, to sign a twinning agreement between the municipality of Pueblo Libre and the municipality of Laayoune.
This visit was an opportunity for the Peruvian delegation to learn about the remarkable developments in the Kingdom in the field of promoting women's rights and the pioneering role they play in the management of local and political affairs, added the same source.
In this context, Hayar reviewed the names of some Moroccan women, including Sahrawi ones, who are involved with men in the management of local affairs in several cities, especially in the Kingdom’s southern provinces, as well as the ministry’s role in consolidating the principles of equality and women’s economic empowerment in implementation of the High Royal Directives.
The Minister mentioned, at the beginning of this meeting, "the common features that unite the two countries, such as the similarity of certain societal characteristics, especially the role that the family and women play in the education of society, and the role of the two countries also in consolidating the principles of peace and security in international forums."
Hayar also exchanged with Tello Lopez on ways to share experiences to promote the economic situation of women and the family as the core of education, as well as people with disabilities, adding that the Peruvian mayor showed great interest in the Moroccan experience.
Tello Lopez was accompanied by the councilor Aurea Genovea Lopez Reyes and Luis Mendivil Canales, ambassador - honorary adviser to the municipality of Pueblo Libre, concluded the statement.
