In the immediate aftermath of the disaster, the MRC, in close coordination with the public authorities, mobilized all its human and logistical resources, deploying its teams in the field to provide the support and assistance, as well as the psychological and social support, needed by those affected by this natural disaster.
Hassan Sana, president of the local MRC section in Taroudant, told MAP that following the earthquake, teams of rescue workers made up of several volunteers were deployed in the field and at the "Mokhtar Soussi" provincial hospital in Taroudant.
Sana stressed the importance of the role played by the MRC, with the support of the relevant authorities, in combating the effects of the earthquake on the local population through the many social and human actions carried out for the benefit of the affected villages.
For his part, Hassan Nejjari, a first-aid trainer at the MRC, emphasized that the interventions of this humanitarian organization in such circumstances are aimed in particular at assisting elements of the Civil Protection and rescue teams in the affected areas to evacuate and transfer the injured to emergency services.
Immediately after the telluric tremor last Friday, local authorities, health services and citizens of the Taroudant province mobilized to provide assistance and relief to those affected.
