“It is a salutary project that will reduce social inequalities, promote growth and offer opportunities to vulnerable groups,” Elkhairy Aïdara told MAP.
“Morocco is resolutely committed to the path of development. Progress is visible in several areas, particularly at the social level,” he said, pointing out that this program, which will contribute to further fight social inequalities, demonstrates also the innovative and inclusive vision of HM King Mohammed VI.
In this regard, he added that this initiative reflects the importance that the Sovereign attaches to the expectations of His people, noting that it also illustrates the particular interest that HM the King grants to social protection, the basis of any development.
“This social assistance program will allow beneficiary families to receive effective support from the State and to improve their situation,” the Senegalese journalist explained.
Highlighting the social protection generalization project, he said that thanks to the enlightened vision of HM the King, vulnerable groups will see their living conditions improve.
He affirmed that "the Sovereign has made the fight against social inequalities and poverty one of the pillars of the social State. This is demonstrated by the strong momentum of economic growth experienced by the Kingdom in recent years".
In His opening speech to the first session of the third legislative year of the 11th Legislature, HM King Mohammed VI announced that the Direct Social Assistance Program will be implemented at the end of the year.
The implementation of the Direct Social Assistance Program will require a budget of 25 billion dirhams in 2024 to reach 29 billion dirhams annually from 2026.
This budget is in addition to the 10 billion dirhams allocated annually by the State for the generalization of the basic compulsory health insurance to families in situations of poverty and precariousness, representing an overall budget of 40 billion dirhams by 2026.
