  • Holder of a degree in business management from the University of Sherbrooke, Canada; Mr. Aziz Akhannouch was born in 1961 in Tafraout.
  • Founder of several businesses operating in various economic sectors.
  • President of the Souss-Massa-Draa Regional Council from 2003 to 2007.
  • Member of the think tank alongside the late HM Hassan II until 1999.
  • Member of the Board of Directors of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Protection of the Environment and administrative member of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Reintegration of Detainees.
  • Minister of Agriculture and Maritime Fisheries since 2007.
  • Mr. Akhannouch was elected by majority president of the RNI on October 29, 2016.
