The “El desafio semanario” news website noted that 2024 will see the culmination of “a series of achievements and permanent advances, which add up to support of all kinds for the autonomy initiative as the best tool for ending the conflict fomented from Algeria for other purposes”.
Enumerating all the achievements of recent years in terms of support for the Moroccan position, the “nacionweb.com.ar” website highlighted the support expressed in particular by the United States, France and Spain, adding that more recently two Caribbean countries, namely Saint Kitts and Nevis and the Commonwealth of Dominica, have reiterated their consistent position in favor of Morocco's sovereignty over its Sahara and its territorial integrity.
“corrientesdetarde.com” and “diarioeldelegado.com.ar” are two other Argentine media that referred to the favorable stance expressed by Japan, which “welcomes serious and credible Moroccan efforts” within the framework of the autonomy initiative for the Moroccan Sahara.
The same sources indicated that on the African continent, two new memberships had been announced: Liberia, which reaffirmed its support for Morocco's integrity and sovereignty over its entire territory, and Sierra Leone, which considered the Autonomy Initiative to be the only “credible, serious and realistic” solution to the conflict.
Finally, “agencialegislativa.com” recalled the letter sent by some thirty British MPs to the Foreign Secretary, David Cameron, calling for rapid recognition of the Moroccan Autonomy Plan as the only viable, serious and realistic solution to the dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.
