The award, which was received by Director of Management of Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency Mohamed Salem Cherkaoui at the opening session of the Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Mediterranean and Gulf Region, held on July 11-12 in Marrakech, is in recognition of the valuable services and efforts deployed by the Agency in support of humanitarian and social action in the field.
Said action goes hand in hand with the political and legal process of the Palestinian cause where Moroccan diplomacy, under the guidance of HM King Mohammed VI, plays a leadership and humanitarian role recognised for its constancy and its greater purpose.
The award is part of the Kingdom's contribution, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, to building partnership bridges among Euro-Mediterranean region peoples, by promoting values of mutual respect, coexistence, cooperation and solidarity.
On this occasion, participants attended a film screening highlighting the humanitarian and social activities of the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, and various efforts to preserve the legal status of the Holy City.
Salem Cherkaoui told MAP stressed that this award pays tribute to the efforts of HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, to implement concrete social assistance projects.
The Excellence Award was presented to the Agency as part of PAM's 18th Plenary Session, held last May in Braga (Portugal), under the chairmanship of the Upper House Speaker Enaam Mayara in his capacity as President of this regional parliamentary organization.
Held under the High Patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, the Marrakech Parliamentary Economic Forum for the Euro-Med and Gulf Region, whose constitutive session took place in December 2022 in Marrakech, represents an ideal opportunity for parliamentarians and founding partners of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Mediterranean to interact with political and economic stakeholders from public and private sectors, as well as with academia and civil society.
Initiated by the House of Councillors and the PAM, the second edition will focus on two main themes, namely "the transition to green energy" and "supporting entrepreneurship and small and medium-sized enterprises in this process."
