This event, initiated by the National Council for Human Rights (CNDH) on the sidelines of the 57th session of the UN Human Rights Council (HRC), highlights one of the most emblematic reforms of the transitional justice process launched under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI.
The celebration of the IER's anniversary highlights one of the major reforms introduced by the Sovereign into Morocco's institutional life, Omar Zniber, Morocco's Ambassador and Permanent Representative to the UN Office in Geneva, told MAP.
"One of the reasons why Morocco holds the presidency of the HRC for 2024 is that it wanted to share its long experience of reform and progress in the field of human rights," pointed out the diplomat who presides over the CDH for 2024.
The celebration of the 20th anniversary of the Equity and Reconciliation Commission offers a rich program at regional, national, and international levels, focusing on such diverse themes as memory and history, reports and publications, documentaries and audiovisuals, and artistic, cultural, and academic events.
