Railways: German Minister Praises Morocco as ‘Very Important’ Partner
Berlin - Morocco is a “very important” cooperation partner for Germany in the fields of mobility, transport and railways, said on Tuesday in Berlin Germany’s Federal Minister for Digital and Transport, Volker Wissing.
In a statement to MAP on the sidelines of the 14th International Trade Fair for Transport Technology, Innotrans 2024, Wissing underlined Morocco’s development and its major investments in the mobility sector, particularly in railroads.
“The railway system is gaining in importance all over the world, and I think it's very positive that Morocco is part of this global dynamic,” he said during his visit to the Moroccan National Railways Office’s (ONCF) stand, where he was received by the Office’s Director-General, Mohamed Rabie Khlie and Morocco’s Ambassador to Germany, Zohour Alaoui.
During the visit, the federal official discovered the ONCF stand, designed in keeping with the country's authentic architectural traditions.
He also welcomed Morocco’s participation in InnoTrans, a world-renowned biennial event, stressing that the Kingdom's presence was a natural extension of its strong commitment to the development of railroads.
The German Federal Minister also praised the cooperation and close relations between his department and its Moroccan counterpart.
