Lower House Speaker Holds Talks in Rabat with President of Swiss National Council's Foreign Affairs Committee
Rabat - Speaker of Morocco’s House of Representatives, Rachid Talbi Alami, held talks on Wednesday at the Chamber's headquarters with the President of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Swiss National Council Laurent Wehrli, currently on a working visit to Morocco
Attended by president of the Moroccan-Swiss parliamentary friendship group Khadija Oualbacha and Swiss Ambassador Valentin Zellweger, the talks focused on ways of strengthening parliamentary cooperation, as well as on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, according to a press release from the House of Representatives.
On this occasion, Talbi Alami stressed the importance of strengthening ongoing communication and dialogue between the two legislative institutions, as well as exchanging expertise, experience and views on issues and topics of common concern to both institutions in both countries.
The Moroccan official also highlighted various reforms efforts in the Kingdom, under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, as well as the progress made in several areas such as education, health, solidarity, social protection, migration, climate change and water.
For his part, Wehrli welcomed the level of cooperation between his country and Morocco, expressing the Swiss Parliament's firm commitment to bolstering relations of cooperation and friendship with the Kingdom.
