Speaking at a press briefing following their talks, Bensaid highlighted the significance of the two agreements signed the previous day, during a ceremony attended by HM King Mohammed VI and French President Emmanuel Macron, which underscore Morocco’s commitment to fostering growth in cultural industries.
Bensaid said Morocco is actively pursuing new professions within the gaming industry, which has a global turnover of approximately $300 billion, emphasizing Morocco’s ambition to establish itself as a key player in this field.
Film and cinema also topped the cooperation agenda, with projects set to launch in Dakhla and Ouarzazate, noted Bensaid. “These initiatives are essential for strengthening Morocco's footprint in the global creative industries,” he said.
Dati, on her part, hailed the cultural relationship between France and Morocco, marked by “deep friendship and mutual trust,” underscoring that this partnership reflects a broader strategic alliance. She highlighted two key agreements aimed at expanding collaborations in heritage, cinema, literature, and gaming, with particular focus on the upcoming “Gaming City” in Rabat, a project set to position Morocco as a competitive player in the gaming industry.
This cooperation, Dati noted, will draw on expertise from prominent French institutions, supported by funding from the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs.
"Our shared belief is that creative industries are crucial drivers for employment, economic growth, and youth engagement,” said Dati, referring to ambitious plans like the International City of Film Production in Ouarzazate and new residency programs for Moroccan filmmakers in France.
"These projects reinforce our commitment to cultural diversity and deepen dialogue between France and Morocco,” she said, reaffirming the shared vision for a collaborative cultural future that champions innovation and empowers youth.
