“Morocco is actively working to achieve the objectives of the AfCFTA, with concrete actions such as establishing the national committee for the free trade agreement and studying a national implementation strategy,” Hejira said at the opening of the 1st edition of the AfCFTA Business Forum, themed "Intra-African Trade: Prospects and Opportunities."

“Regional integration is a fundamental lever to stimulate economic growth and employment in Africa, which opens promising prospects by reinforcing political cooperation, boosting intra-African trade and attracting foreign capital,” he said.

He added that with initiatives such as the Atlantic Alliance, which brings together 23 African countries on the Atlantic seaboard, Morocco aims to create an area of peace, stability and sustainable development, noting that African cooperation is a priority for Morocco.

As such, he saw the forum as a crucial opportunity to discuss concrete solutions to the challenges faced by economic operators on the African market, with the hope that recommendations will reinforce the commitment to AfCFTA, enabling sustainable growth for African economies.
