The ceremony was attended by various members of the National Security family, including directors, executives from the central and decentralized services of the DGSN and DGST and active and retired civil servants, as well as children and orphans of civil servants and their beneficiaries, affiliated to the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel, according to a DGSN press release.
Scholarships awarded to children and orphans of the national security family to reward academic excellence and encourage the pursuit of university studies
This year's Excellence Ceremony was a further opportunity to support social action within the public police service, by paying tribute to children and orphans of the National Security family who had achieved outstanding academic feats and obtained the highest baccalaureate averages in the previous school year. They received scholarships and financial rewards designed to encourage them to pursue higher education.
These include university scholarships of MAD 50,000, divided into five annual instalments of MAD 10,000 each, covering the five years of higher education. These scholarships represent financial support provided by the DGSN to encourage the children of its civil servants to pursue higher education.
A total of 12 students from the National Security family have benefited from these university scholarships, among those who obtained the best averages and entered university establishments.
A second component includes exceptional grants of between MAD 4,000 and MAD 5,000, which were awarded directly to 109 students, children and orphans of National Security family officials who achieved the best marks during the previous academic year.
The awards ceremony was attended by the parents of the prizewinners, to encourage them to continue to excel in their studies, and to pursue higher education in a variety of specialties and fields.
The Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel adopted a rigorous procedure in selecting the recipients of these scholarships, based primarily on the averages obtained in all core subjects. Four students have been selected in each of three streams: scientific, technical and literary.
The Foundation also plans to increase the amount and number of recipients of these scholarships and awards for the next academic year, in line with the directives of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance.
Partnerships signed with academic and university institutions to open up new prospects for children and orphans of the National Security family
In addition to the scholarships for excellence set up in 2021, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel launched a new social program this year, involving partnerships and agreements with a number of academic and university institutions to facilitate access to these establishments for children and orphans of police officers.
In this way, the Foundation has opened up to a number of higher academic institutions, in particular private university institutes, with which partnership agreements have been signed, providing, in certain cases, full scholarships for orphans of the National Security, or financial incentives in the form of tuition fee reductions of up to 50%.
These educational and incentive initiatives, launched and overseen by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel on the instructions of the Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, are part of ambitious social programs aimed at diversifying the social and educational services provided to active and retired police officers and their families. These programs are designed to provide social and educational support for academically outstanding children and orphans of the National Security family enrolled in various cycles of higher education.
The 2024 Excellence Ceremony: a tribute to police officers in the fields of sport, art and culture
This year's Excellence Ceremony was also an opportunity to pay tribute to police officers who had won various artistic and sporting competitions organized by the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel during the year, as part of its support for social action and the promotion of a culture of creativity among members of the National Security family.
Financial prizes were awarded to three civil servants who won the painting competition involving 47 civil servants, submitting a total of 87 works, which were evaluated by experts and specialists from the Ministry of Culture.
In addition, thirty paintings by police officers, selected by the competition jury, will be exhibited in galleries open to the public to highlight the artistic side of the National Security family.
On the sporting front, the teams that took the top three places in the national futsal championship, organized by the Union sportive marocaine de la police, were also honored. These teams represent respectively the Settat police prefecture (1st place), the Dakhla regional police headquarters (2nd place) and the Oujda police prefecture (3rd place). Prizes were also awarded to the winners of the top scorer and fair play awards.
In parallel with these social initiatives, the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of National Security Personnel is currently working on a register of the achievements of the National Security family in the artistic, cultural and sporting fields, which will be used to showcase the talents of police officers in future competitions and sporting, artistic and cultural events.
