Following the Eid prayer, the imam delivered a sermon in which he recalled the atmosphere of spirituality and piety marking the fasting month of Ramadan.
He highlighted the importance of the religious lectures held under the chairmanship of HM the King, Commander of the Faithful, during the holy Ramadan, noting that these lectures have become prestigious tribunes for spreading enlightened knowledge serving Islam and Muslims.
This holy month coincided with one of the most glorious national anniversary, namely the Throne Day which symbolizes cohesion between the throne and the people, and solidarity-based union for social promotion and further progress for the Kingdom in all areas, he said.
The imam noted that Eid El-Fitr coincided also this year with the celebration of the Revolution of the King and the People on August 20.
HM the King was greeted, afterwards, by heads of Islamic countries' diplomatic missions accredited to Morocco.
At the royal palace, the sovereign was greeted by his brother HRH Prince Moulay Rachid and cousin HH Prince Moulay Ismail.
The sovereign also received greetings of from the Head of Government, Speakers of the Lower and Upper Houses, HM the King's Advisors, Cabinet Members, High Commissioners, Chairmen of Constitutional institutions, Directors of Royal Cabinets, the Sovereign's brothers-in-law and senior military and civil officials.
