Ten new deaths from coronavirus complications were reported, bringing the total number of fatalities to 90, while twelve other people have recovered which rises to 93 the total number of recoveries, Director of epidemiology at the ministry of Health, Mohamed El Youbi, pointed out in a statement broadcast by MAP on its M24 channel and RIM radio.
According to him, the excluded suspected cases have reached 4,253.
Regarding the geographical spread of the virus, Casablanca-Settat still registers the highest number of cases, followed by Marrakech-Safi, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Fez-Meknes, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and the Oriental, he said, noting that no covid-19 case has been reported so far in the region of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab.
By provinces and prefectures, cases are still concentrated in Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Fez and Meknes, he noted.
Within these provinces and prefectures, the number of cases is increasing among some foci and families, El Youbi pointed out, adding that 8,181 people who had contacts with confirmed cases are under surveillance, which has allowed the detection of 374 cases.
Regarding the condition of confirmed cases, he said that more than 15% showed no symptoms, 70% were in mild condition and 14.7% were in serious condition.
The average age of confirmed cases is 48 years, with two months as the minimum age and 96 years as the maximum age, El Youbi added.
Figures about the coronavirus pandemic in Morocco will be updated twice a day, at 10:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., on the ministry's website, he said.
