"The cancellation of the sixth edition of the Crans Montana Forum in Dakhla was a necessity that the health emergency situation demanded following the spread of the new coronavirus and we can today see the soundness of the energetic and appropriate decisions taken under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI", underlined the president of the Forum in a message of solidarity to the inhabitants of the city of Dakhla and the Region of Dakhla-Oued Ed-Dahab.
Carteron, who hailed the leadership of the Sovereign and the insight of decisions taken for the interest of the Moroccan people, said that "although no one can predict the future, the pandemic is now contained in Morocco because from day one, there was no hesitation, procrastination or political concerns".
"At the opening of the last five forums in Dakhla, I have repeatedly said that there is real leadership, vision and exemplary management of public affairs in this country. Once again we have clear proof of this. And I will repeat it again!" he insisted.
The president of the Crans Montana Forum also welcomed the decision taken by the Moroccan authorities to impose the use of face masks as a means of protection against the virus.
"While many governments around the world are still hesitant, the decision to wear face masks - the only real protection - was taken without delay. And this decision was possible because Morocco immediately did what was necessary by manufacturing these masks," said Carteron, noting that it was a quick decision, the Ministry of Industry supported without delay the immediate reconversion of some textile industry plants”.
Expressing his solidarity with the inhabitants of the city of Dakhla and the region of Dakhla Oued Edahab, Carteron assured that "together we will continue to make your beautiful region shine throughout the world, a magnificent reflection of the dynamism and energy of Morocco".
