These meetings were focused on the crisis of the Covid-19 pandemic, its economic and social repercussions as well as on the responses by different countries and international institutions to this crisis, said a press release from the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Administration Reform.

Benchaâboun participated, in particular, in the meeting of the Development Committee co-chaired by the President of the World Bank Group and the Managing Director of the IMF, and in the high-level meeting organized by the Managing Director of the IMF with the MENA countries, the statement said.

During his speeches, the Minister highlighted Morocco's experience in the fight against this pandemic, noting the proactive and multidimensional approach adopted by the Kingdom in accordance with the High Instructions of HM King Mohammed VI.

He also stressed the need to support economic recovery through appropriate policies ensuring more flexibility, added the press release, noting that Benchaâboun called on the IMF to support efforts of the countries through the maintenance of emergency funding facilities until the end of the crisis.
