The number of people declared cured rose, until Tuesday at 4:00 p.m., to 778 with 83 new recoveries, while the number of fatalities increased to 165 with the recording of 03 new deaths, said director of epidemiology and disease control at the Ministry of Health Mohamed El Youbi, in a statement broadcast by MAP on its television channel M24 and on RIM RADIO.
The number of cases excluded after negative laboratory test results has reached 1864 for a total of 26,998 since the onset of the epidemic, said the director.
Of the 132 new confirmed cases, 92 were detected thanks to medical monitoring operations, that is a rate of 70%.
The medical surveillance effort concerned 22,960 contact persons and the detection of 2,631 out of the total of 4,252 cases confirmed to date, he added.
In terms of geographic distribution, El Youbi explained that no significant change has been noted, especially since the Casablanca-Settat region still has the highest number of contamination cases (25%), followed by Marrakech-Safi (21%). Then come Fez-Meknes, Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima and DrĂ¢a-Tafilalet with an almost equal number of cases.
Regarding recoveries, 83 new cured cases were identified, bringing to 778 the number of patients declared cured since the start of the epidemic. A gradual increase in the recovery rate was recorded to reach 18.3%.
The number of patients treated in a critical state of health remains generally stable. In this regard, he said that only 81 patients were admitted to intensive care in a critical state of health, that is 13% of the bed capacity reserved for these cases.
