In an article published on its website under the title: "The Kingdom of Morocco ... a proactive and preventive strategy against the Corona", the paper pointed out that Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, has adopted, since the declaration of the first confirmed case of Covid-19, a proactive and preventive strategy, which has been accompanied by a broad momentum of national solidarity.
The author of the article added that this solidarity movement resulted in the creation of a fund to address the economic and social impact of the pandemic and to support the health sector.
The authorities established preventive health rules, followed by strict criteria of social distancing in order to contain the spread of the virus, the author of the article stressed, explaining that these measures were proactively accompanied by the suspension of all flights to and from Morocco's airports.
He also mentioned the suspension of classes in schools and universities and the declaration of a state of health emergency, measures that demonstrated the rapid reactivity of the authorities to limit the spread of the virus.
The paper also highlighted the efforts undertaken by Morocco, which has succeeded, after a few weeks, in doubling the bed capacity of public hospitals, "with a sense of responsibility on the part of the state, which has favored a preventive approach".
Morocco has also been able to increase its capacity in resuscitation beds, the paper noted, adding that in accordance with royal directives, the Royal Armed Forces (FAR) have joined this task by creating military field hospitals.
In addition, it referred to the royal initiative aimed at establishing an operational framework to support the most vulnerable African countries in the management of the different phases of the pandemic, and to create an African alliance to fight the coronavirus and to share experiences and best practices.
"In a show of solidarity, in the context of an unprecedented health crisis, HM King Mohammed VI has responded favorably to a request from the Malian president, Ibrahim Boubacar Keita, to reopen the Moroccan military hospital in the Malian capital to receive patients infected with the coronavirus," the paper said.
