In addition, the crop rotation program adopted for the main market gardening crops for the summer season (19,000 hectares) will be put in place from June onwards, according to the same source, estimating that the expected production from spring and summer sowings should largely cover the consumption needs of these products for the period from June to December 2020.
The statement recalled that since the beginning of the crisis, the strictest health and hygiene measures have been adopted by the ministry and all operators and stakeholders along the agricultural value chain (farms, fruit and vegetable and fish wholesale markets, slaughterhouses, packaging units, export units ...).
In the particular context of the state of emergency decreed to fight Covid-19, the ministry has ensured, since the beginning of the crisis, a regular and rigorous monitoring of the production situation and the supply of agricultural and food products to the national market, noted the same source.
