In order to protect the safety of travelers, professionals and employees, the ministry has implemented specifications relating to the management of the dangers of the spread of the Covid-19 epidemic for transport businesses and their employees, as well as specifications relating to bus stations, said the ministry in a press release.
These specifications, downloadable on the ministry's website (equipement.gov.ma), include a series of preventive measures to be strictly respected by carriers, station managers, employees and travelers, in order to offer safe services guaranteeing the security and health of all and to limit the spread of the virus.
The said specifications, initialed and signed, constitute for the tourist carriers and the actors of passenger public transportation using buses an exceptional authorization for the resumption of the activity of the passenger public transportation in the aforementioned zones, added the press release. It must therefore be available "on board the vehicle for inspection".
The ministry requires, for the lines of transport connecting two points in zone 1, and the lines of transport coming from zone 1 bound for zone 2, to keep the initial schedules of each point of the said route in the authorization form or in the line route form.
In the event that the authorization route passes through transit points distributed in zone 2, boarding from these points is not possible except for persons with a professional authorization or an exceptional authorization, issued by the local authorities for imperative reasons of movement outside the territory of the prefecture or the province within which these points fall.
For transportation lines from zone 2, in addition to the need for professionals to keep the initial schedules for each point of the said travel in the authorization form or in the travel form, passengers must have a professional authorization or an exceptional authorization, issued by the local authorities for compelling reasons to travel outside the territory of the prefecture or the province, when departing or boarding travelers from points falling within this area.
The ministry also requires to respect the rate of a maximum 50% of the capacity of the vehicle, to have obligatorily, on board the buses and for each travel, a list containing the information of the passengers, in particular the ID number as well as the first name, the family name and the telephone number of the person.
Knowing that this list must be made in three copies by the bus station ticket clerks (ticket office) when selling travel tickets (the first copy will be presented to the manager of the bus station, the second to the driver of the bus, the third will be kept by the ticket office).
Concerning the buses authorized to transport passengers during the travel, they must complete this list at each embarkation point, while respecting the maximum capacity of 50%, underlines the press release, adding that the transport company must keep all lists and archive them for a minimum of one month after the date of each trip.
With regard to tourism transportation, the Ministry provides the same requirements in terms of initialing, signing and archiving of the specifications relating to the public road transport companies, as well as its availability on board the vehicle for inspection.
Professionals must respect the rate of a maximum 50% of vehicle capacity, and add the number of the national identity card and the telephone number of travelers to the information contained in the manifest of tourist transport and present it at the checkpoint, said the press release.
The services of the ministry at central and territorial levels remain available to citizens, professionals and employees of this vital sector for the proper application of the specifications via call center 4646.
