"On behalf of the government of Djibouti, I would like to express my sincere thanks and gratitude to HM King Mohammed VI and to the brotherly Moroccan people for this donation of medical supplies and equipment intended for the people of Djibouti," said the Djiboutian official at the end of the ceremony for receiving the Moroccan medical aid.
The Djiboutian minister highly praised this Royal initiative which, according to him, arrives at "a critical moment for the whole world".
"In such difficult circumstances, countries rarely show support and assistance," he said, noting that this gesture constitutes "a real testimony to the sincerity of the bonds of brotherhood between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Djibouti".
The government spokesperson highlighted the solid and continuous nature of the Moroccan-Djiboutian relations, describing the cooperation between the two brotherly countries as "constructive" and "multidimensional".
"On this occasion, I wish a speedy recovery to HM King Mohammed VI. May God grant him a long life," added Mahmoud Ali Youssouf.
The aid is composed of face masks, visors, hygiene caps, coats, hydroalcoholic gel, as well as packs of chloroquine and Azithromycin.
This solidarity action is part of the implementation of the Initiative launched by HM the King on April 13, 2020, as a pragmatic and action-oriented approach, intended for the brotherly African countries, enabling the sharing of experiences and good practices and aiming to establish an operational framework in order to support their efforts in the various phases of the pandemic management.
