The first agreement aims to develop a framework for judicial cooperation between the two countries in the criminal field, while the second is meant to create a framework for cooperation in the field of judicial extradition.
"This means that all fugitives wanted for offences, crimes or genocide will be tried or extradited in both countries. Rwandan suspects will be extradited from Morocco and vice versa (...) The activation of these agreements will further improve our cooperation with the Kingdom," said Rwandan minister of State in charge of the Justice department, Solina Nyirahabimana.
The agreements were signed by minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita and his Rwandan counterpart Richard Sezibera, who chaired the first session of the Great joint commission in Rabat on 19 March 2019.
