"Belgium welcomes Morocco's efforts and commitment to find a solution to the Libyan crisis. It praises the initiative of dialogue between the delegations of the High Council of State and the Libyan House of Representatives," said the deputy spokeswoman of the Belgian Foreign ministry, Marie Cherchari in a statement to MAP.
Recalling that the position of Belgium, which now sits on the Security Council, is in line with the communication made on this subject by the European Union and the United Nations, Cherchari said that "Morocco had already demonstrated this commitment with the signing of the Skhirat political agreement in 2015".
"The efforts that Morocco is devoting to this initiative," she added, "come at a very propitious time to support the efforts over the Libyan political dialogue led by the United Nations to find a peaceful solution to the conflict".
