The curfew will be in effect from 9 a.m. (19:00 GMT) to 6 a.m. (4:00 GMT) for four weeks starting Saturday, Macron said in an interview with French TV channels.
French President stressed that the curfew would operate in the Ile-de-France region, as well as in Grenoble, Lille, Lyon, Aix-Marseille, Montpellier, Rouen, Saint-Etienne and Toulouse.
Shortly before this interview, the French government announced the reestablishment of the state of health emergency throughout the country as of October 17.
