Morocco is represented at this annual meeting of the best Mediterranean productions, by the 35mm-film "Zanka Contact" by director Ismael El Iraki.
The film competes, in the official selection, in the "feature film competition" category alongside eight other productions. Different prizes are awarded to this category, notably the BNP Paribas Critics' Prize, the Midi Libre Audience Prize, the CMCAS Languedoc Young Audience Prize, and the JAM Prize for best music.
Ismael Ferroukhi is competing in the official selection for the Midi Libre Audience Award, in the "Feature films panorama" category with his movie Mica. Jawad Rhalib, also in official selection with "Fadma", competes in the “documentaries” category, and Said Hamich Benlarbi who competes in the “short film” category with his film “Le Départ”.
This year, the festival welcomes more than 150 films from both shores of the Mediterranean, including Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Egypt and Lebanon.
