The occupancy rate of these establishments, numbering 39 tourist units, reached during this period 29pc, against 35pc between the months of January and April of the year 2020, according to a report issued by the regional tourism delegation.
Regarding the number of tourist overnight stays in classified accommodation establishments in the city, it fell by 42pc at the end of April, standing at 107,481 overnight stays, against more than 184,000 during the same period in 2020.
The average length of stay during this period is 2.71 days, according to the same source.
This situation is due in particular to the drop recorded by the main tourist markets, including France, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy and Belgium, in addition to the Arab and Scandinavian countries.
According to the same source, 93pc of tourist arrivals are resident tourists, while the remaining 7pc are foreigners.
The city has 39 classified tourist establishments with a capacity of 7,019 beds, according to the regional tourism delegation.
