This operation, carried out simultaneously in the regions of Oulad Tayeb, Zeghanghane and Selouane near Nador, led to the seizure of 61 parcels containing cannabis resin at a warehouse in Oulad Tayeb, National Police (DGSN) said in a statement, adding that 28 other parcels were seized on board a car in Selouane, bringing to three tons the total quantity of the drug seized which was intended for international traffic.

Searches carried out as part of this operation also led to the seizure of seven cars, five hunting rifles, 63 ammunition, in addition to cell phones, a motorcycle, bladed weapons and a sum of money suspected of coming from this criminal activity, the source pointed out.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 39, were placed on custody pending the end of investigations carried out under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office.

This operation is part of the joint efforts led by security services to fight against international drug trafficking.
