4.4-Magnitude Earthquake Hits Driouch Province

Rabat - An earthquake with a 4.4-magnitude on the Richter scale was recorded Sunday in the province of Driouch, said the National Institute of Geophysics (ING).

The earthquake, whose epicenter is located off the province of Driouch, occurred at 12h40min03sec (GMT+1), said the ING National Seismic Monitoring and Alarm Network in a seismic alarm bulletin.

The tremor occurred 23 km deep, with a latitude of 35.556 °N and longitude of 3.610°W, it added.
