"Faced with the surge in cases of contamination with the new coronavirus and the proliferation of new more dangerous and faster strains of this virus, it was decided to suspend family visits for the benefit of inmates, until further notice, in order to preserve the health of detainees, officials, visitors and users," the Delegation said in a statement.

The DGAPR said that, on the occasion of Eid Al-Adha, supply baskets containing cooked meals that can be consumed for two days will be authorized from the second day of Eid and for a period of a week, but without the possibility of visiting the detainee, and this according to the schedule which will be developed by each penitentiary and in strict compliance with the prevention and precautionary measures in force to fight the new coronavirus.
