The divisional commissioner, head of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca, Aziz Kamal El Idrissi told MAP and M24 news channel that the individuals were arrested during an operation conducted Monday evening by the elements of the anti-gang squad under the prefectural service of the judicial police of Casablanca, following accurate information provided by the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).

This operation conducted at the main road between Casablanca and Bouznika, enabled the seizure of five tons and 820 kg of chira on board two utility vehicles, in addition to two cars that were used in this criminal activity, El Idrissi added.

The suspects were placed in custody at the disposal of the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent prosecutor to identify possible ramifications of this criminal network, and to arrest all accomplices, he noted.
