The number of people who got the first shot is 19,136,490, while that of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) amounts to 15,552,325, the ministry said in its daily report on the Covid-19 epidemiological situation.
The new figure brings to 884,085 the total number of contaminations since the first case reported in Morocco in March 2020. The number of people who have recovered has risen to 823,330, a recovery rate of 93%.
The new contaminations were identified in the regions of Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (1,090), Casablanca-Settat (676), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (361), Marrakech-Safi (180), the Eastern region (173), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (164), Souss-Massa (121), Fez-Meknes (86), Guelmim-Oued Noun (80), Draa-Tafilalet (48), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (34) and Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (30).
As for deaths, their total number rose to 13,073 (fatality rate of 1.5%), with 80 new cases recorded in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (18), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (11), Marrakech-Safi (11), Rabat-Sale-Kenitra (10), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (8), Souss-Massa (7), the Eastern region (6), Draa-Tafilalet (4), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (2), Fez-Meknes (2) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The number of active cases is 47,682, while severe or critical cases reached 2,171, of which 79 are placed under intubation.
