According to data presented during a site visit conducted Tuesday by the chargé d'affaires at the Embassy of the United States of America to Morocco, David Greene, in the presence of the director general of the Office of Vocational Training and Promotion of Work (OFPPT), Loubna Tricha, and many officials, these works concern the construction of an administrative block, workshops, stores and hangars, and the creation of a manoeuvring track, external and landscaping works, external lighting and works related to roads and various networks as well as sanitation.
Worth nearly 110.7 million dirhams, including a contribution of 96.1 mln from the "Charaka" Fund, this institute will offer an annual capacity of 412 seats, including 276 seats under the basic vocational training (technician and specialized technician) in several fields, including mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, logistics, industrial electricity and quality, safety and environment (QSE).
The remaining 136 pedagogical seats, planned within the framework of the qualification training, will allow the reinforcement of the trainees' skills in the maintenance of heavy machinery and industrial vehicles, handling of port machinery and port terminal operator.
This advanced training offer will meet the needs of economic operators in qualified profiles and offer young people living in the new town of Chrafate and in the region promising prospects for training and professional integration.
In a statement to the press on this occasion, Greene said that this institute specializing in training in the industrial sector is part of an investment of about 100 million dollars under the "Charaka" Fund, financed by the U.S. government through the MCC, noting that this project aims to help support vocational training for employment of young Moroccans.
