A total of 23,012,112 people have received the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in Morocco, while the number of fully vaccinated people (1st and 2nd doses) has reached 20,047,440, the ministry pointed out in its daily COVID-19 bulletin.
A total of 655 new COVID-19 cases and 1,307 recoveries were recorded in Morocco in the past 24 hours.
The total number of COVID-19 cases reported since the start of the outbreak of the virus stands at 938,286, while recoveries rise to 916,324, i.e. a recovery rate of 97.7%.
The new COVID-19 cases were reported in the regions of Casablanca-Settat (237), Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (208), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (54), the Oriental (40), Marrakech-Safi (29), Beni Mellal-Khenifra (19), Souss-Massa (17), Fez-Meknes (15), Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra (14), Guelmim-Oued Noun (10), Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (8) and Draa-Tafilalet (4).
As for coronavirus-related deaths, they rose to 14,427 (case fatality rate 1.5%) with 14 fatalities reported over the past 24 hours in the regions of Rabat-Salé-Kenitra (5), the Oriental (4) Casablanca-Settat (3), Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima (1) and Dakhla-Oued Eddahab (1).
The number of active cases stands at 7,535, including 677 people in a critical or severe condition, the ministry said.
