The person involved in this case, a 28-year-old driver of Moroccan nationality, was arrested immediately after his arrival on board a cruise ship from Algeciras in Spain, said a statement by the national police (DGSN), adding that the search operations made it possible to discover these shipments of psychotropic substances inside the cabin of a truck carrying goods.

The suspect was placed in custody to complete the judicial investigation conducted under the supervision of the prosecutor's office, to determine the local and international ramifications of this criminal activity and question all those involved, the same source added.

This security operation is part of the intense efforts made by police services to counter international drug trafficking.
