Two boats were intercepted Tuesday off Laayoune with 97 migrants on board, according to local authorities.
The Royal Navy also arrested a dinghy with 61 sub-Saharan migrants on board, north of the port of Laayoune. These would-be immigrants to the Canary Islands were safely transported to the port of Laayoune, the same source added.
On the same day, the surveillance services of the coast apprehended, north of the center of the Tarouma fishermen village, 19 sub-Saharans, including 13 women, 01 minor and 05 men, and seized 2 zodiacs, 2 motorboats and 15 drums of gasoline.
On Sunday, the Royal Navy intercepted, off the coast of Foum El Oued, 54 sub-Saharans of different nationalities on board an inflatable boat.
This operation resulted in the seizure of an inflatable zodiac with a motorboat.
The security services and local authorities have recently increased the number of operations to control illegal emigration attempts in the region of Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra.
The operations are part of the fight conducted by the various security services and local authorities against illegal emigration and human trafficking networks.
