During the third quarter of 2021, the number of passengers carried reached 10.2 million, up 132% compared to Q3-2020, the Office said in a statement on its quarterly indicators.
This improvement, explained the same source, comes mainly from the resumption of passenger traffic following the lifting of travel restrictions decreed by the competent authorities.
Freight transport, for its part, posted an increase of 3% (6.5 million) compared with the same period of 2020. During the third quarter, this traffic is at the same level of volume transported in Q3-2020 (2.1 million).
Regarding the transport of phosphates, it has recorded a year-on-year rise of 3% in volume during the third quarter of 2021.
Traffic revenues reached MAD 850 million in Q3-2021, up 40%, thanks to the recovery of passenger activity and the resilience of freight and phosphate activities.
