During this visit, Qotbi should attend, at the invitation of the Government of Benin, the opening of the exhibition event "Art of Benin yesterday and today, from restitution to revelation: royal treasures and contemporary art of Benin", which will take place Saturday at the Presidential Palace "the Marina", in the presence of President of the Republic, Patrice Talon, said a statement by the Foundation received Thursday by MAP.
Benin will exhibit, at the Museum of the presidency, twenty-six works of the Royal Treasures of Abomey, which were returned by France to Benin in November 2021, after more than a century of exhibitions in French museums, according to the same source.
At a press conference held Wednesday by the Minister of Culture, Tourism and Arts, in the presence of journalists who came to cover the exhibition of Royal Treasures (TV5, France 24, Le Monde, RFI, ..), the presence of Qotbi was warmly welcomed.
This presence allows to show the intensity of cooperation between Morocco and Benin under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and the president of the Republic, Patrice Talon, and to expose the cooperation projects in the cultural and artistic field between the two countries, noted the statement.
The president of the National Museums Foundation welcomed on this occasion the organization of this historic event and emphasized the priority given by His Majesty the King to culture and art, as well as the availability of Morocco, in accordance with the High Royal Directions, to share with Benin, and with the African countries brothers, its experience in the management of museums.
