During this audience, which took place in the presence of the Beninese Ministers of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Aurelien Agbénonci and Tourism, Culture and Arts, Babalola Jean-Michel Hervé Abimbola, the president of Benin paid a vibrant tribute to HM King Mohammed VI for having given culture the place it occupies today in Morocco, noting that the Kingdom is an example to follow in the development of art and cultural heritage.
The Beninese head of State said he had excellent memories of his visit to the Museum Mohammed VI of Modern and Contemporary Art, "which has been for him a source of inspiration for the development of the museum sector in Benin".
On this occasion, it was agreed to develop a memorandum of understanding to be signed between the FNM and the competent Beninese authority.
Earlier, the Moroccan ambassador and the president of the FNM were invited to the opening of the exhibition "Art of Benin, yesterday and today: from Restitution to Revelation" highlighting, on the walls of the Presidential Palace, the 26 royal treasures returned by France in November 2021 and which are exhibited for the first time after their return to the country.
