According to a press release from the embassy, the event saw the participation of many Moroccan artists who came together to sing and dance on Bollywood music.
These artists also paid a special tribute to Lata Mangeshkar, "Nightingale of India", who had passed away earlier this month in India at the age of 92 and who has sung more than 25,000 songs in various Indian and foreign languages, the release pointed out.
"India and Morocco share strong cultural ties and Bollywood movies and songs are particularly very popular in Morocco," the embassy noted. Special tributes paid to Lata Mangeshkar by Moroccan artists are a testimony to the love for Indian culture in Morocco.
The event was organized as part of a series of programs planned by the embassy of India in Rabat this year, celebrating 75 years of Indian independence and Indian-Moroccan friendship, the diplomatic representation added.
