Responding to an oral question at the House of Representatives on "the government's vocational training strategy," the minister stressed that a vocational training strategy has been developed and includes several axes related to the structure of the offer.
Among the 365 branches of training, 164 are new and 162 have been updated, he said, noting that only 39 disciplines have been maintained.
Besides developing educational spaces and modernizing equipment, 12 cities of trades and skills (CMC) have been created in all regions of the Kingdom as part of this strategy, Sekkouri added.
"For the first time, the regional specificities have been taken into account, especially since the regions actively contribute to the implementation of this project," he told MPs.
Responding to another question on "supporting specialized training in the field of renewable energy," the minister stressed that "Morocco has a pioneering strategy in this area at the international level."
He noted in that regard that the vocational training sector in Morocco has several institutes in the area of renewable energy, three of which are located in the cities of Oujda, Tangier, and Ouarzazate, adding that these institutes' capacity amounts to 1,200 seats.
As for the institute specializing in renewable energy trades, electricity and electronics in Casablanca, it has a capacity of 763 seats, while another institute in Tarfaya has a capacity of 760 seats, Sekkouri added.
