Held in collaboration with the Moroccan Film Center, the Yugoslav Film Archive and Serbian Ministry of Culture and Information, this festival features five Moroccan films, namely "The wings of love" by Abdelhai Laraki, "Casanegra" by Nour Eddine Lakhmari, "Road to Kabul" by Brahim Chkiri, "Dry eyes" by Narjiss Nejjar and "Rock the Casbah" by Laila Marrakchi, said a statement by the Moroccan Embassy in Belgrade.
Laila Marrakchi will be present in Belgrade to present her movie to the Serbian audience, during the opening ceremony of the festival, it added.
The Moroccan Film Festival will be held in various Serbian cities, namely Novi Sad, European Capital of Culture 2022, Nis and Čacak, in order to introduce the national cinema to the largest number of Serbian film lovers.
Various events have already been held during the month of March, as part of the celebrations of the 65th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries, such as a Morocco-themed philatelic exhibition, which was open to the Serbian public for two months. On this occasion, a postage stamp was issued jointly by Barid Al-Maghrib and Posta Serbja.
Fusion/Jazz Group "Chalaban" performed in Belgrade and Novi Sad on March 8 and 9 respectively.
