Salaouaci, who was installed in her position on Monday in a ceremony attended by the president of the Autonomous Community of Madrid, Isabel Ayuso, and the mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martinez-Almeida, arrived in Spain in 2010, and in 2016 she became the director of the QUBE Foundation.
She is also CEO of the company Tradeventures, which focuses on technology park real estate for companies dedicated to research.
''I am very happy to be the first Moroccan and African businesswoman to hold this position in Spain, a great pride for me and my country,'' Salaouaci told MAP, adding that this choice ''further strengthens the presence of Moroccan women in the economic and commercial field in a friendly and neighboring country like Spain".
"From my position as a member of the Chamber of Commerce of Madrid, I will work seriously to bring new horizons to Madrid companies to settle or invest in the Moroccan market and attract Moroccan companies to explore business opportunities in the Community of Madrid," she said.
According to her, Moroccan companies have reached a high level of "maturity and competitiveness", stating that the projects developed by Morocco in all areas and the establishment of new industrial clusters confirm the emergence of the national economy”.
As a result, she said, many Spanish companies are opening subsidiaries and production plants in Morocco, a country that is increasingly attracting foreign investment thanks to its business climate.
''Morocco and Spain have a huge potential that should be exploited by the private sector, hence the need to further strengthen cooperation ties and the exchange of trade missions,'' concluded Salaouaci.
